Irvine to Troon walk

Anne and I were looking for a walk away from the hill mist out our back door and decided to do a shore walk Irvine to Troon. Never done it before although we have both run along the beach in the days when we were members of Irvine Athletic Club. Today though we were sticking to walking and anticipating lunch in Troon. Not exactly an exciting walk but nice enough and lunch in 'Lido' was rather nice.

Great place Irvine, we visited the maritime museum twice. I think the boat in your shot is the oldest steam tug afloat? In the background is the wooden hull of a sailing ship that took people to Australia. Fascinating, all that history. Well if we come over shortly, Arran might be the place to go. We like good scenery, a coffee shop or 2 and little traffic
I like challenging single track, but the rest would settle for level forest paths. I know what you mean about the sunshine, it makes the day. Will keep in touch

Took the kids onto the boats years ago but haven't been in again. You know more about than me. See you soon.
