Failford and Stair
Delicate toadstool at Faiford
A bit windy and showery for the open hill today but nice for a walk by the River Ayr.
Our plan was Failford to Stair, a spot of lunch in Stair Inn then back to the start the way we came.
Unfortunately just as we emerged from the shelter of Faiford Gorge a shower was passing over so we dived back into shelter and just did the short loop.
Still went to Stair for lunch though but by car, surprise surprise! who did we meet there? but my cycling chum Graham and his wife Moira just having a little refreshment after christmas shopping.
Needless to say lunch took a little longer than planned but we still had time to walk along to Stair's old whetstone quarry for a look about and a few photos.

Hi, been away on a short break to Barcelona, its good to catch up on some of my online ( addictions) sites and i see you have been taking some great photos with new lenses and exposures. Great stuff, reminds me of a mates work ( will find link, might even give u pointers. Nice cycles as per and inspires me to get out asap.
p.s Barca is a great city.

Haven't been to Barcelona itself but I've cycled a bit around Gerona just north and walked from a lovely town called Olot a couple of times. I intend to return there soon in the spring perhaps.
Wow nice place to cycle, thats where my flight came into, over the pyrenees. Looks stunning passing over the mountain peaks covered in snow above the clouds. Would highly recommend Barcelona. Camp Neu tour if your a footie fan is essential. Mount Montjuic and Park Guell are good for walks and stunning views of the area.

I'm tempted we may include it next time. Leave the hire car out of town and get the train in for a day. Just so I know if I've been missing anything worthwhile.
